On Sunday at 2:04 a.m. an updated special weather statement was released by the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC until 10 a.m. The alert is for Oconee Mountains, Pickens Mountains, Greater Oconee and Greater Pickens as well as Cherokee, York, Anderson, Abbeville, Laurens, Union, Chester, Greenwood, Greenville and Spartanburg counties.

“Areas of dense fog have developed, with visibilities as low as 1 statute mile, and in isolated locations as low as 1/2 statute mile, across the region. Visibility the rest of tonight will be highly variable, often changing quickly and across short distances. Drive cautiously, turn on your low-beam headlights, and increase your following distance on all roadways,” according to the NWS.
