A new café aiming to bring a relaxing, South of France inspired vibe to Columbia is opening its doors next week.

It’s called Lavender Café, a name inspired by France’s famous lavender fields. The café is located at 101 Sparkleberry Crossing Road, off of Clemson Road in the same building as Italian spot Travinia and across from San Jose.

The café offers house-made pastries, matcha and coffee, highlighted by a signature “Lavender Latte.” According to their website, the café already offers catering services through a mobile coffee cart, available for events such as corporate meetings, weddings, birthdays and brunches.

The café is owned and operated by local business consultant Shirine Arzu. Her husband, Chris Arzu, runs Sergeant Fitness, a 24-hour gym in Irmo.

In a social media post, the café started its soft opening period on July 24, which followed by a full grand opening on July 28. The café’s weekday hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closing at 1 p.m. on Saturday and closing on Sundays.
