A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car on a major South Carolina interstate.

SC Highway Patrol Sgt. Tyler Tidwell said in a release that the incident happened at about 12:40 a.m. Monday in Dillon County on Interstate 95 southbound, near mile marker 180.
The Highway Patrol said that a 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer was traveling south on I-95. A pedestrian was in the roadway, authorities said. The Jeep struck the pedestrian, the Highway Patrol said.

The occupants of the Wagoneer were not injured, according to law enforcement. The name of the deceased pedestrian had not been released as of Monday morning.
