There’s a new spot for fried chicken, biscuits, gasoline and more in a growing area of Lexington.

Spinx, which has convenience store locations across South Carolina, has opened a new location at 296 Charter Oak Road, near the intersection of Charter Oak Road and Highway 378. The new store opened its doors on July 30, according to a post from Spinx on Facebook.
“Lexington — your new Spinx is now OPEN!,” Spinx said on social media. “We are looking forward to serving this community — join in on the fun.”
The post from Spinx touted a number of opening deals., including a $2.99 breakfast combo, $3.99 for an eight-piece of FreshBites chicken nuggets, a buy-one-get-one free deal on boiled peanuts and more.
Spinx was founded by Stewart Spinks in Greenville in 1972, per the company’s website, with the first store at Laurens Road and East Washington Street. The company now has more than 80 stores across the state with more than 1,400 employees, per the Spinx website.

Through the years Spinx grew its operations, particularly as it relates to food options. The company has been known for its fried chicken, which it deems “legendary,” with bone-in, tenders and nuggets available. Spinx also carries a number of breakfast items, including chicken biscuits, sausage biscuits, hash browns and more.
The new Spinx is in an increasingly busy area in Lexington. The Hendrix Crossing shopping center is across the road, anchored by a Publix and featuring a San Jose, a Marco’s Pizza and other businesses. Meanwhile, a shopping center anchored by a Planet Fitness also is nearby, and Lexington High School is about a mile to the south.
It’s a bustling traffic area, with more than 12,000 cars per day traveling down Charter Oak Road, per state Department of Transportation statistics, and more than 20,000 cars per day traveling along Highway 378 in that area.
