A Columbia man was sentenced in federal court for leading a drug trafficking conspiracy in Richland and Lexington counties, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for South Carolina.

U.S. District Judge Mary Geiger Lewis sentenced William Larry Javis Jr., 46, to 20 years in federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy that distributed methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, crack cocaine and marijuana throughout the Columbia and Lexington County areas, according to a news release.
Javis was one of the organization’s leaders and managed two stash houses, along with hotel rooms, to store and distribute drugs, the release said.
The 46-year-old distributed more than 19,000 grams of methamphetamine, 8,000 grams of cocaine, 172 grams of marijuana and 34 grams of fentanyl between September 2023 and January 2025, according to the release.

Javis, a convicted felon, also possessed multiple firearms and facilitated their sale, according to evidence presented in the case. He was on probation for a prior drug conviction during the conspiracy, the release said.
Javis was also sentenced to 10 years of court-ordered supervision following his release from prison.
The investigation involved the DEA, Columbia Police Department, Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and West Columbia Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ariyana Gore prosecuted the case.
