A 3-year-old boy died after sustaining a gunshot wound inside his home, according to the Richland County Coroner’s Office.

The incident occurred Thursday at a residence on Bailey Street. The child, who was identified as Erin Myers, was transported to Prisma Health Richland Hospital before dying, according to the coroner’s office.
“The loss of a child is always heartbreaking,” Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford said in a news release.
