One person was wounded in a shooting in Richland County on Tuesday afternoon.
At 2 p.m., Richland County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 600 block of Crestmont Road. That’s in a residential area near Lake Carolina off of Hardscrabble Road.

A man was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the upper body. EMS transported the victim from the area in stable condition.
Deputies quickly located a vehicle that matched the description of one seen in the area at the time of the shooting. The car came to a stop in the Folkstone neighborhood off of Rabon Road in North Columbia between Two Notch and Farrow roads, the sheriff’s department said in a news release.

Several occupants of the vehicle ran from the scene on foot. But the sheriff’s department release said that several suspects were detained as of 4 p.m. Tuesday, but the shooting remains under investigation and no arrests have been announced.
