A Columbia man was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for possessing a firearm used in the killing of a Columbia woman, according to federal prosecutors.

Anthony Detemrius Reese, 56, was sentenced to 180 months in prison after U.S. District Judge Joseph F. Anderson Jr. determined that Reese was responsible for the murder of Angela Fuller and that the firearm was used in the killing, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for South Carolina.
Reese was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm, the release said.
Investigators said Reese left a residence in Cayce with Fuller on the night of Aug. 29, 2025. Early the next morning, he dumped Fuller’s body in a wooded area near Two Notch Road, prosecutors said.
Columbia police identified Reese as the last person seen with Fuller. On Aug. 31, officers spotted Reese’s vehicle and attempted to stop him, but he fled, leading officers on a high-speed chase before crashing in Lexington.

Officers recovered a loaded firearm from Reese’s vehicle, and later charged the 56-year-old with murder, unauthorized removal of a dead body, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a stolen pistol.
Those state charges remain pending, according to court records.
After an extensive search, law enforcement found Fuller’s body on Sept. 11, 2025.
Ballistic testing later determined that the firearm recovered from Reese’s vehicle was used in Fuller’s killing, the release said.
