Drayton House at 25 East Battery overlooks Charleston Harbor and has six bedrooms and 11,367 square feet on a 0.31 acre lot.
It was built for Eliza Gantt Drayton and Charles H. Drayton, known as Phosphate Charlie, on the site of a Greek Revival-style house that was destroyed in the Civil War.
The Drayton family owned the house for 80 years as well as a summer house in Flat Rock, North Carolina, and a country estate on the Ashley River Drayton Hall, which is now a museum.
The listing by Charles Sullivan of Carriage Properties says the house “remains a timeless icon of the city’s architectural heritage.”
It is owned by Robert and Julie Honeycutt, who renovated the entire property over a two-year period after buying it for $7.1 million in 2022.

The four-story house is made of block, brick and stucco and has a copper roof.
The kitchen has a walk-in refrigerator, plus a separate, hidden commercial-grade kitchen, which includes a grill, smoker, deep-fryer, and commercial dishwasher, the listing says.
There is a media room with a 163-inch digital wall with state-of-the-art audio which opens to a custom tiger onyx four-sided bar.
A glass elevator goes to the 2,200 square-foot primary suite that includes a spa said to rival an upscale hotel.
The harbor can be seen from multiple seating areas.
There is an office, pantry, sauna, study, sunroom and three fireplaces.
A balcony overlooks the harbor and Cooper River.
There are multiple outdoor sitting areas, including a patio outside the guest house and others overlooking the courtyard.
