Taylor Swift’s fans say Seahawks’ message after beating Chiefs was distasteful

It was probably a good thing superstar singer Taylor Swift didn’t attend the Chiefs’ 20-3 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.

Little went right for the Chiefs in the Pacific Northwest, although Swift’s husband, tight end Travis Kelce, made NFL history. But Kelce also had a couple of dropped passes and the Chiefs were beaten soundly by the defending Super Bowl champions.

Swift’s fans were disappointed by the outcome of the game and how the Seahawks chose to celebrate on social media. Seattle posted a photo of a Swiftie friendship bracelet that said: “Seahawks Win” and this message: End Game.

That’s the name of a Swift song, and her fans found that post to be distasteful.

“It is big time loser behavior for a team to reference another player’s wife. You don’t see teams making Sinners references on their social media when they beat the Bills,” one wrote, mentioning the movie with Hailee Steinfeld, who is married to Bills quarterback Josh Allen. “There is no way to justify it.”

Another shared this: “I will say, this is pretty weird, especially 3 years out now. But what other players wife gets dragged into their loss? I don’t care how famous she is, it’s really weird for an opposing NFL team to try and get clout from including her in their posts, when they beat us.”

“Why do y’all think it’s okay to troll a team by using the spouse of an opposing player?” a fan asked. “This wouldn’t be acceptable if she wasn’t Taylor Swift. She deserves respect just like every other player’s spouse”

On Instagram, a Seattle fan wrote: “I’m a ‘hawks, Travis and Taylor fan. This post is tasteless.”

“Shading player’s wife by another nfl team’s social media account is never normal, no matter who she is, she has nothing to do with the game, a game that she didn’t even attend,” another wrote.

Another shared this: “The disrespect is why I hate other teams, make it a chief pun, but why Taylor, why a spouse, they wouldn’t make fun of Claire Kittle or Kelly (Stafford) so why is this okay?”

One fan suggested: “I guess anyone’s fair game then. How about we compile a list of Seahawks WAGs and have large Swiftie accounts mock them when they lose?”

Another fan on Instagram wrote: “one stupid post and just like that from being my #1 nfc team since last season, from now on i will be rooting against seahawks for the rest of this season.”

That was echoed by a fan on X: “And while I was rooting for you guys last year just like that my respect for you is gone. Hope rest of your season sucks bc this is just tasteless”
