A restaurant known for chicken fingers in northeast Columbia has closed its doors.

The Slim Chickens restaurant at 456 Killian Road in northeast Columbia has shuttered. It was closed and empty during what would have been normal operating hours when a reporter stopped by on the afternoon of Aug. 24. All the Slim Chickens signage had been removed from the building, and all the tables and equipment had been removed from inside the restaurant.
The Killian Road location also is no longer listed on the locations page of the Slim Chickens website. The northeast Columbia chicken finger restaurant opened in May 2024.

This marks the second Slim Chickens location to close in the Midlands this summer. The location at 2089 N. Beltline Blvd. in Forest Acres shut its doors in early July. The chain’s Columbia location on Garners Ferry Road remains open.
Slim Chickens was founded in Arkansas and expanded across the U.S. in recent years. There are just more than 200 locations nationwide, according to data site ScrapeHero. The restaurants offer chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, wraps, salads and more.
