At least three people are dead, and one person was injured on Sept. 15 after a helicopter crashed and burst into flames in Los Angeles, fire officials said.

The incident was reported shortly before 7 p.m. local time in Chatsworth, a suburban neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. The Los Angeles Fire Department said the helicopter went down between two commercial buildings.
The helicopter crash caused a fire, damaging four vehicles and two storage containers, according to the fire department.
“Three patients have been determined deceased on scene,” the fire department said in a statement. “One patient has been transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.”

About 56 firefighters responded to the incident, and the fire was completely extinguished, the fire department said in an update at about 8 p.m. local time. No structures in the area were impacted by the fire.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the incident, according to the fire department.
