Four people have been indicted for multiple counts of wire fraud crimes that included bleaching $10 bills and printing the face of a $50 bill onto them.

Octiva Rasheem Moorer, 28, of Orangeburg; Brittney Kay Pringle, 38, of Summerville; Amy Chavis, 34, of Marion; and Priscilla Sweeper, 50, of Orangeburg were all indicted on various wire fraud charges by a federal grand jury, the South Carolina district of the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Sept. 18.
After bleaching the bills and reprinting them, those involved loaded the bills into Cash App accounts at various Dollar General stores around the state. Then, they would send their Cash App balances to each other, the indictment alleges.
Moorer coordinated the scheme, and along with Chavis, loaded the Cash App accounts, the indictment alleges.
Moorer was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, six counts of wire fraud, one count of manufacturing counterfeit currency and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

Pringle was also charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and six counts of wire fraud. Pringle was also an employee with the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services.
Chavis and Sweeper were both charged with three counts of wire fraud, and charges dealing with wire fraud conspiracy. Chavis was also charged with passing counterfeit money, and Sweeper was charged with one count of manufacturing counterfeit currency, according to the news release.
Each defendant faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release if convicted, according to the release.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service, the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office and the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
