A 59-year-old man died after he was struck by a train traveling through Warrenville, the Aiken County Coroner’s office said.

A Norfolk Southern train was traveling through Warrenville when it struck Cheyenne Rathbone who was walking on the tracks near Walton Road, according to the coroner’s office, which was called to the scene midnight Saturday.

An autopsy is scheduled for this week in Newberry.
The incident is under investigation by the Aiken County Coroner’s Office, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and Norfolk Southern Police.
