One person died following a Sunday night crash on a major SC interstate, law enforcement said.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Hannah Davidson said in a release that the wreck happened at about 10:40 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 95 in Hampton County, near the 36.5 mile marker.
Per the Highway Patrol, a 1985 Western Star dump truck was traveling north on I-95, while a GMC pickup truck also was travelling north. Authorities said the GMC struck the dump truck in the rear.

The driver of the GMC died in the collision, authorities said. The dump truck’s driver was transported to a medical facility for injuries.
The deceased had not been publicly identified as of early Monday morning. The wreck remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
