A 39-year-old Richland County woman has been charged with allegedly fraudulently obtaining more than $33,000 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, according to the South Carolina Department of Social Services.

Davita Burnett was arrested Sept. 23 by special agents with the DSS Office of Inspector General, with assistance from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, according to a news release. She is charged with fraudulent acquisition or use of SNAP benefits valued at $10,000 or more.

Burnett was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
