A South Carolina teen has died in an off-road vehicle crash, authorities said.
Pickens County Coroner Andrew Wilson said in a news release that coroner’s office personnel were dispatched at about 5 p.m. Sunday to an address on Dalton Road in Marietta, SC in reference to a motor vehicle accident.

The coroner’s office said that a UTV “went off the roadway on private property and rolled over.” A UTV is an off-road vehicle typically used for work, per online resources.
The coroner’s office said the driver of the UTV, 16-year-old Cruz Evatt Ellenburg, of Marietta, died at the scene. A forensic autopsy will be scheduled for a later date.

The crash is being investigated by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office, the release said.
