The recall by Star Meat Delivery of Lucama, North Carolina is the result of the products not being inspected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service and bearing false USDA marks of inspection.
The recall is for 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef, and goat products, including rib eyes, short ribs and ground pork.
“Any product bearing the false establishment number “EST. 1363” should be considered misbranded and unsafe to eat,” the federal agency said.
The product was shipped to A&D Foods, a distributor in Georgia, to be sent to retail and restaurant locations nationwide.
No illnesses have been reported, USDA said, but uninspected food could contain allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants.
The meat was produced on various dates before Tuesday and were vacuum-sealed and packed into cardboard boxes for shipment.
“Individual consumer packages may not bear this labeling, as retail stores may have applied their own stickers with pricing and safe handling instructions,” the USDA said.

Flour recall in SC
Washington-based GF Blends has recalled all-purpose flour and gluten-free mixes due to “potential undeclared wheat allergen,” according to the FDA.
“People who have celiac disease or a severe gluten intolerance run the risk of adverse health effects or allergic reactions if they consume these products,” the federal agency said.
GF Blends said the recalled products were made with plantain flour supplied by PMF Global and labeled as “certified gluten free,” but third-party testing showed it did in fact contain gluten, the recall notice said.
As of Thursday, Sept. 17, GF Foods said it had not received any reports of “adverse health effects” related to the recalls.
