Two people were found dead in South Carolina after they were apparently struck and killed by a train.

The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office announced that the bodies of two men were found by railroad workers at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday along the track by Tee Vee Road, close to the intersection with Old Number Six Highway. The location was in a rural area about two miles southeast of Elloree.
The coroner’s office believes the men had been struck by a train the night before, according to a news release. Time of death was estimated to be between 10 p.m and 11 p.m. Tuesday, the time at which the railroad confirmed a train had passed through the area.

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene from “multiple blunt force injuries,” Coroner Sean Fogle said in a statement. The men were believed to have been 26 and 29 years old. Their identifies will be released once their families are notified.
