A South Carolina seafood restaurant and bar was named one of the best casual dining spots not just in the U.S., but in the world, according to a recent report from Tripadvisor.

The online travel publication annually releases its Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Restaurants, showcasing the finest restaurants and eateries across the globe. Out of its 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone.
A restaurant on Hilton Head Island also ranked No. 2 in the ranking’s fine-dining category. Charleston also has the third-best food tour in America.
“Food is at the heart of how we experience a destination, and these awards recognize the restaurant and culinary experiences travelers consider among the very best,” said Laurel Greatrix, Tripadvisor’s Chief Communications Officer.

Located in Myrtle Beach, Hook & Barrel was named the best casual dining restaurant in the U.S. and the 7th best in the world.
The restaurant’s inviting atmosphere, delicious seafood and warm staff have made it into a must-stop travel destination for food lovers. They serve a traditional coastal menu, with signature dishes such as she-crab soup and shrimp & grits.

“Travelers recommend the fresh catch of the day and filet with shrimp as two highlights — but overall, the restaurant is a must-visit for a delightful meal any time of day,” according to Tripadvisor’s website.
