The Tsunami restaurant at 1290 Bower Parkway, which is known for sushi and more, is now under the ownership of El Vago Hospitality Group, according to a recent post on the Tsunami Harbison Instagram page. The group also has the El Vago Mexican Kitchen restaurant on Main Street in downtown Columbia.
“We’re excited to bring fresh energy and a new vibe to Harbison while continuing to serve the Tsunami favorites you already know and enjoy,” the recent Instagram post said. “Come visit us and try our new and updated food and cocktail menus! We now offer a full bar with exciting new drinks, and even more updates are on the way.”

The social media post also noted that, beginning in January 2027, the Harbison Tsunami restaurant will transition to Kahlo Mexican Kitchen and Sushi, dubbing it “an exciting concept combining modern Mexican cuisine, sushi and a vibrant dining experience.”
Tsunami, which is open from 4 to 10 p.m. daily, is located along a stretch of Bower Parkway that is near the popular Regal Columbiana Grande movie theater and a host of other businesses and restaurants. A new Urban Air Adventure Park is set to open Sept. 2 not far west of where Tsunami is located. The restaurant is in the midst of the busy Harbison commercial area that includes a roster of big box stores, hotels, eateries, the Columbiana Centre mall and more.
