Two Shake Shacks in South Carolina will open in South Carolina this month.
The first will be Charleston Outlets Shack Sept. 23 at Tanger Charleston Outlets, 4840 Tanger Outlet Blvd Ste 791.

The second will be Greenville Drive-Thru, the first SC Drive-Thru, Sept. 25 at 1740 Woodruff Rd.
The much-hyped New York-based hamburger phenom announced the two locations earlier this year and plans special opening day giveaways.
In Charleston, where hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, the first guests will receive custom, SC-themed Shake Shack tumbler cups. The company will give $1 from every sandwich sold on opening day to the Low Country Food Bank.
Greenville patrons get the tumbler as well, and $1 from every sandwich sold will go to Project Host. Project Host began in 1981 as a soup kitchen and has grown to include a culinary school, food truck, bakery, and garden.
Greenville Shake Shack hours are Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 12 a.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Danny Meyer, whose Union Square Hospitality Group owns various New York City restaurants including Gramercy Tavern, opened Shake Shack in 2001 as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park to support a Madison Square Park Conservancy’s art installation.

In 2004, it became a permanent kiosk and “quickly turned into a neighborhood favorite,” the company says on its website. “Since then, we’ve grown into a global team rooted in hospitality, quality, and community.”
The company is embarking on a major expansion that ultimately could see 1,500 restaurants worldwide.
It has about 500 locations globally, more than half company owned.
The company motto is “Stand for something good.”
“Our individual actions matter in the pursuit of our purpose and mission. Elevating everything we do and creating uplifting experiences for others is the goal,” the company said on its website.
In 2025, Shake Shack collected for the first time more than $1 million from guests that was given to charity and on Donation Days gave 25% of participating sales — about $454,000 — to local causes.
The company supported disaster relief efforts in Los Angeles wildfires, North Carolina and Texas floods. The company’s Sprinkled With Pride Campaign — 50 cents for sprinkles — contributed about $297,000 to GLAAD.
In 2025, the $1 from every sandwich on opening days in new stores generated $46,000, the company said.
