In his second term, President Donald Trump and his allies have gone to great lengths to attach his name to buildings, institutions and other places. That includes renaming structures and ships, adding his name to currency and federal websites, and putting his image on banners and passports.

Examples can be found in Washington, where a federal judge has blocked Trump’s name from reappearing on the façade of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, an inscription that read “renovated and restored by Donald J. Trump.”
Officials had said Trump would not lead the Center’s “financial rescue” unless his name is added to recognize his efforts. Now the center may close.
In the Middle East, Trump has suggested the United States could rename the Strait of Hormuz after himself, contending the waterway is under U.S. control as the Iran war continues.
